You can either buy minutes from OnStar to use it, or if have Verizon Wireless you can use your Verizon minutes instead of buying minutes from OnStar. (To use your cell phones minutes you would have to sign up at your Verizon dealer) It isn't a Blu Tooth system. That will be on the 2009 models. If you are buying this car from a GM Dealership your salesperson will be able to explain it in full detail to you. What is Onboard Hands-Free Communications System, in a 2005 Cadillac CTS?I just saw another question about this.

Isn't this a cell phone you can use to steer the Cadillac with so your hands are free to take notes on your cell phone conversations?
