Have a starter disabler in my cadillac, how do i disable it?

for some reason the starter disabler activated in my 1990 cadillac seville, and i can't get it to shut off. cant get the car to start, or do anything for that matter.Have a starter disabler in my cadillac, how do i disable it?Is your vehicle equipped with Pass-Key? This is a standard GM theft deterrent which utilizes a resistor chip in the ignition key. Make sure that the chip is not loose in the key, this will keep the car from starting. If you have had a new key made recently, make sure that the correct resistor was used (there are 13 different ones).

If these things check out to be OK, then it is probably a broken wire in the ignition cylinder. There are two tiny white wires that lead to the cylinder and allow the circuit to be completed when the ignition key is inserted, once the wires break the car will not start.

You can either replace the ignition cylinder (it comes with a new key), OR you can determine the key resistor value and purchase a resistor at an electronics supply, then find the two tiny white wires at the base of the steering column (both are housed in a yellow casing) and wire the resistor in-line.

This will permanently bypass the Pass-Key feature and should allow you to start the car.Have a starter disabler in my cadillac, how do i disable it?Go to the local Cadillac dealer and have a mechnic check for you.Have a starter disabler in my cadillac, how do i disable it?locksmiths can disable it.
