Is it a bad choice to buy a 1997 cadillac deville with 143,000 mls on it ? or is 100 thou the life of engine ?

is a 97 cadillac deville's engine useless after 100,000 or is that old days saying for cars ?Is it a bad choice to buy a 1997 cadillac deville with 143,000 mls on it ? or is 100 thou the life of engine ?ITS JUST LIKE CAVALIERS/SUNFIRE,(and any other car)

Take CARE OF IT!

Maintaince and Prevention!!!

replace water pump thermostat and get a complete tune up

and that thing will go along ways!

But yes as long as your gettin a good deal, thats alright 143k isnt that bad but its half n half. thats where maintance prevention, and DONT abuse it comes in....

if the intake gasket goes out, ever, go on craigslist find and tell someone to do it for 350-400.....at the most because its really only worth about that much regular would be like 800+ minimum.. I KNOW someone will do it.Is it a bad choice to buy a 1997 cadillac deville with 143,000 mls on it ? or is 100 thou the life of engine ?Be careful! If that model has the Northstar engine in it, i'm pretty sure thats what it has. These engines are famous for blowing head gaskets and bad cam shafts. Headbolt threads in aluminum block fatigue (fail) which results in blown head gasket. With that many miles, the first thing you should do, prior to purchase, is have a compression test done.Is it a bad choice to buy a 1997 cadillac deville with 143,000 mls on it ? or is 100 thou the life of engine ?THAT IS AN OLD SAYING YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT THAT, in that car you can expect to get around 50,000 miles out of it befor you begin having serious problems with the engine, either way it is still cheaper than buying a new car,, how much are they asking for it? and how well has it been maintainedIs it a bad choice to buy a 1997 cadillac deville with 143,000 mls on it ? or is 100 thou the life of engine ?
it all depends how it was taken care of ive seen a car go over 200000 miles an more and seen engine blow at 50000 miles but on average at 100000 it near its end
