What could be the cause of a 2000 cadillac deville not to crank when you switch it on?

My cadillac deville 2000 has a full charge and everything else works fine but when I put the ground cable on it sparks(it is getting fire over to the ground cable). What could be the cause of a 2000 cadillac deville not to crank when you switch it on?when battery is properly charged it will spark while hooking up the last cable wether it be ground or hot it just means ur batttery is up. id say it wont crank cause the starter solenoid went out. u need anew starter and make sure wires are tight n snug. i doubt if its ur ignition switch but ive seen them go out before.. id say starter. u can take it off n any auto part store checks for freeWhat could be the cause of a 2000 cadillac deville not to crank when you switch it on?your battery could have a dead cell in it. It would seem charged and your lights and everything would work but it will not start the vehicle. take the battery to your local parts store and have them check it,.

more than likely the starter solenoid is bad. go to the starter solenoid and put a test light on the crank signal terminal and have someone try and start the vehicle. If you have 12 volts on that terminal while cranking but the car doesn't crank then the starter needs to be replaced. What could be the cause of a 2000 cadillac deville not to crank when you switch it on?tap on your starter with a wrench and see if it terns over.. hit it kinda hard
