I know about the V12 Northstar Engine that was shot down in 2000, but I heard that Cadillac briefly made an Escalade with a V12 engine. Is this true? Was there ever a V12 Cadillac Escalade in 2003, or any other time?Don't listen to them, the Cadillac's built and tested many V-12's lately, just not put them into production... yet.
They've been testing and building V12 Cadillacs for years, and it's going into production.
Product boss Robert Lutz has confirmed plans to build a V12 sedan. The engine will have 7.2 liters of displacement with 600 horsepower and 540 pound-feet of torque.

It's upto gas prices if these prototypes make it.
There's a lot of people who have driven new V12 based Cadillacs, but you have to be in the automotive industry.
In 2004 Cadillac did build V12 prototype Escalades!
Cadillac has been testing a V12 based on its 4.6-liter Northstar V8 that fits the Escalade engine bay without major modification.
GM has a V12 that changes power to run on one bank as a straight 6 for fuel economy and then kicks back to a V12 when you step on the gas.Was there ever a V12 Cadillac Escalade in 2003, or any other time?
Ok, EVERYONE is wrong here, the 2003 Escalade never had a V-12!!!
Escalades always have the 5.3L Vortec V-8 on the base model and the larger 6.0L Vortec Overhead Cam for the Escalade ESV.
The Northstar V-8 has been the flagship for Cadillac and has been used in more than 25 models to date.
Besides, who would want a V-12 is an SUV?
Whoever told you this is a complete liar! Was there ever a V12 Cadillac Escalade in 2003, or any other time?Cadillac had a 12 cylinder in the late 1920's and a 16 cylinder in the 1930's.

GM corporation has not released a V10 or a V12 (or a V16) engine in the last 70 years... PERIOD
Caddy MAY have built a V12 back in the old days around 1932, but they would be stupid to do it now, EH what?
