I have an 88 Cadillac Brougham with two 4X6 speakers in the dash, and two 6X9 speakers in the back. I am wondering if to improve sound quality it is as simple as swapping out the factory speakers for something better, or if the wiring must be completely redone, radio replaced etc in order for the new speakers to perform well. I am trying to preserve the factory radio, but I plan on placing a CD player in the trunk. So my question essentially is where can I find a how to guide on how to do all of this? I tried install doctor's website, but it was of no use to the Brougham line.Questions on Installing Speakers in a 1988 Cadillac Brougham?Upgrade the speaker's and keep the original wiring----just clip the wires a few inches back from the connector so you can reinstall the factory speakers later if you want to. Make sure to connect the wires to the proper positive and negative terminals of the new speakers and make sure the new speakers are the same ohm rating for resistance as the factory ones....car stereo shop's will know.
